The Royal Organizing Committee, in collaboration with the multinational West Nally and the Maeght Gallery in Paris, commissioned fifteen artists of different nationalities to make the posters that were going to represent the World Cup and the fourteen host cities of the matches in Spain in 1982. This poster represents the city of Valladolid, Castilla León, Spain.
VALLADOLID: "Unas tijeras", by the Serbian Vladimir Velickovic (1935). His artistic work is characterized by the predominance of narrative figuration, which undergoes a change from the traumatic events that occurred in the Balkan War, redirecting his work towards a more cruel vision. In the poster we appreciate an overload of lines and strokes full of strength, precision and ease thus giving a nervous and dramatic style.  Through it represents one of the most spectacular and appreciated plays by the public as it is "the scissors". The artist chooses the moment before the shot to capture the moment of maximum body tension.
