This original exhibition poster was published by The Fundacion Juan March, Madrid, Spain. Printed in Spain in 1977 in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the exhibition. It features an artwork image originally created by Picasso in 1907 titled " Mujer ( Estudio Para Las Senoritas De Avinon ) ", Woman ( Study for the Ladies of Avinon ).

Pablo Picasso ( 1881 - 1973 ) was a Spanish born painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, poet and playwright who spent most of his life in France. He is regarded as one of the most important and influential artists of The Twentieth Century. Exceptionally prolific throughout the course of his long life, Picasso achieved universal renown and immense fortune for his revolutionary artistic accomplishments, and became one of the most well known figures in 20th Century Art.

In 1977 The Fundacion Juan March in Madrid presented a major solo exhibition of the work of Pablo Picasso, which was the first paintings exhibition by the artist to be offered in Madrid since 1936. The exhibition included works created between 1901 to 1968 that showed how Picasso had remained in deep exploration of diverse artistic disciplines for most of his extensive career. The works exhibited exemplified many of Picasso's most important and iconic artworks from his different styles and periods including the famous Cubist masterpiece " Las Senoritas Des Avignon " 1907, and the the related painting " Woman ( Study for The Ladies of Avignon ) ", the artwork image that is features in this exhibition poster.
