Spain'82 World Cup. Venue: Vigo, sport vintage poster.

Title: " El delantero centro" (The centre forward)

The Royal Organizing Committee, in collaboration with the multinational West Nally and the Maeght Gallery in Paris, commissioned fifteen artists of different nationalities to make the posters that were going to represent the World Cup and the fourteen host cities of the matches in Spain in 1982. This poster represents the city of Vigo, Galicia, Spain.

VIGO: "El delantero centro", by the Frenchman Jacques Monory (1934). A painter also adhered to narrative figuration, his work is characterized by the use of a limited chromaticism, initially through the white-blue binomial, and from 1978 with primary colors. In the poster, two rival footballers dispute the ball on the run when one of them makes a hard entrance to the player wearing the Vigo 82 shirt. In the image, movement and speed prevail, one of the key and remarkable elements of football.
