Beautiful original space race poster, from my point of view, one of the best posters in my collection.
Title: 12 APRIL-COSMONAUTICS DAY
Cosmounatics day is an anniversary celebrated in Russia and some other former USSR countries on 12 April. In Poland an "International Day of Aviation and Cosmonautics" is celebrated on the same day.
On the other side, the person on the poster is Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin which was a Soviet Air Forces pilot and cosmonaut who became the first human to journey into outer space, achieving a major milestone in the Space Race; his capsule, Vostok 1, completed one orbit of Earth on 12 April 1961.
