Saimaza coffee, Spain.
This is an original vintage advertisement poster for Café Saimaza, a Spanish coffee brand.
Saimaza is a well-known Spanish coffee producer, founded in Seville in 1937. The poster advertises Saimaza coffee, showing a bag of ground coffee and a cup of brewed coffee. The text "siga con SAIMAZA... y seguirá contento!" translates to "continue with SAIMAZA... and you will remain happy!".
What is a torrefacto coffee?
Café torrefacto is coffee roasted with added sugar, which caramelizes to form a dark, shiny, and bitter film around the beans, creating a more intense flavor and thick crema. This process originated in Spain and other countries during periods of coffee scarcity, acting as a method to preserve beans, increase their weight, and mask the taste of lower-quality coffee. While the practice has roots in necessity, it became a traditional preference in some regions and is still available today, often mixed with regular roasted coffee.
