Original vintage poster featuring the host Real Madrid and Bayern München in the Semi Final 2nd Leg (European Cup nowadays called Champions League). The match was played on Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid on 22nd April 1987. Real Madrid won against Bayern München 1-0.

This style of football poster, unfortunately, disappeared due to the use of computers at the end of the 80's in Spain. Its figurative style and the size is quite similar to the ones made for bullfights because the same publishers and artists did work for both events.
On the other side, there was a pattern to repetition of some football backgrounds of match scenes to illustrate different teams, precisely due to the search for quick solutions, which is why different lithographic workshops had their own work backgrounds, just like today designers have images and photographs examples when there is no time or budget to generate new designs. This is the reason, it seems that the background of this poster was originally made for a match Real Madrid vs Betis with regard to club colours.
