Our Lady of Charity, Spain.
Title:"Ubi Caritas"
This original Spanish poster poster released in 2008 by the Cofradía del Amor y la Caridad (Brotherhood of Love and Charity) for the Holy Week celebrations in Málaga, Spain. Painted by artist Pablo Alonso Herráiz, the artwork depicts a deeply expressive, sorrowful close-up of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad (Our Lady of Charity). She is shown dressed in pristine white mourning robes with a veil, tears streaming down her face, while holding a delicate white handkerchief and a rosary in her hands. Behind her head is a large, intricate golden halo with radiant beams, which stands out against a textured, patterned background. Bold orange lettering frames the composition, with the word "UBI" positioned at the very top and "CARITAS" running along the bottom next to the year 2008. The title references the ancient Latin Christian hymn Ubi caritas, which translates to "Where charity and love are, God is there," directly reflecting the name and spiritual mission of the brotherhood.
In the other side, this original poster exhibits clear visual influences reminiscent of the Austrian Symbolist artist Gustav Klimt
