Osborne. Spain.

Osborne. Spain.

Striking original vintage advertising poster for Osborne Veterano Brandy, produced in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Dominated by a vivid red background, the design features the legendary Osborne Bull - the unofficial national symbol of Spain - leaping powerfully beside the iconic bottle and a crystal glass. Set over the silhouette of the Iberian Peninsula, it celebrates one of Spain's most historic brandies, from a house founded in 1772 at El Puerto de Santa María. A masterpiece of mid-century commercial art, bold and instantly recognisable.

Did you know…?

The Osborne bull (Spanish: El Toro de Osborne) is a black silhouetted image of a bull in semi-profile. Erected as either 14-meter-tall (46 ft) or seven-meter-tall (23 ft) billboards, as of July 2022 there are 92 of them installed on hilltops and along roadways throughout much of Spain. The bull was originally conceived as an outdoor advertisement for the Brandy de Jerez made by the Osborne Group in 1956. With the passage of time, the Osborne bull has become a national symbol of Spain (see last picture).
