This original vintage poster advertising Barcelona’s Fiestas de la Merced—also called the Festivales de Otoño, or Autumn Festivals—held between September and October 1967. Drawn in a warm, folk‑art style, it features a musician in profile, wearing a soft red beret, a dark jacket with bright red trim, blue striped breeches, and simple leather shoes. He holds a lute or mandolin as if playing a cheerful tune, while behind him rises a bold, geometric shape in rich tones of orange, red and gold, evoking the feel of the autumn season. Flecks of confetti in red, blue and pink drift across the pale cream background, adding a light, festive touch.
Across the top, bold lettering gives the name of the celebrations, and along the bottom sit the city’s coat of arms, the location and the dates: Barcelona, September–October 1967.
