Leda Atomica/Dali. Spain.

Original Spanish poster to promote cultural Spanish tourism through a work of art by Salvador Dalí.

Scene depicts “Leda Atomica," from 1949. The painting depicts Leda, the mythical queen of Sparta, with the swan representing Zeus. Dalí's wife, Gala, served as the model for Leda. The title "Leda Atomica" references atomic energy, reflecting the post-World War II era's interest in atomic theory and nuclear energy. The painting incorporates the concept of atomic discontinuity, with objects appearing suspended in space, never physically touching, symbolizing the nature of atomic particles. The work blends classical mythology with modern science and is a prime example of Dalí's surrealist style, characterized by dreamlike imagery, meticulous detail, and a sense of suspended animation.

You can see Jon Miró's sun in the right bottom corner (last picture). It is the first abstract symbol that has been used to identify a country. A simple drawing, with quick strokes and in three colors, yellow, red and black, has served to turn this image into one of Miró's most recognized works.

This isn’t just a original poster. It’s a portal into the surreal mind of Salvador Dalí—visionary, rebel, genius.
