1982 FIFA World Cup. Spain.

1982 FIFA World Cup. Spain.

This is an original official poster created for the 1982 FIFA World Cup Spain, dedicated to the host city of Oviedo, and designed by the renowned Dutch graphic artist Piet Beek.

The striking composition features eight players in dynamic, fragmented poses - and these figures hold a special inspiration: they are based on the legendary Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskas, whose iconic movement, posture and playing style served as the reference for the artist's design.

Beneath them, the name Oviedo appears in a deep, rich blue - chosen to reflect the colours of Real Oviedo football club, the city's historic team, This distinctive shade links the poster directly to the club that is the pride and heartbeat of the city.

Each player advances across a clean white field alongside golden match balls, rendered in Beek's bold, modernist style that defined the tournament's visual identity. The official Copa del Mundo de Futbol España 82 title and FIFA emblem complete the design at the foot.

A wonderful piece of World Cup and Real Oviedo heritage - an original vintage print from 1982, not a modern reproduction.
